This program is taught by the Bend it like Buddha school (RYS) and accredited by the Yoga Alliance RYT 200 Hour standards curriculum and ten years of experience delivering the most effective Yoga teaching techniques, skills and knowledge based from our school's physical world wide trainings in Taiwan, Mysore, Goa, India, Bali and Portugal. Upon successful completion, you will receive a RYT 200-hour Yoga teacher training accredited with Yoga Alliance and certificate specializing in Ashtanga and Vinyasa. At the end of this course you will have the skills to teach yoga world wide, to family, friends and deepen your own home practice.

We highly recommend that you already begin to practice teaching yoga, meditation and pranayama to friends and family by donation for the first 6-12 months of your yoga teacher journey. Even if you do not consider yourself a "teacher". Yoga is a lifelong journey... and to teach is to learn! The more you teach, the deeper you go into the practice.

This yoga teacher training is a perfect balance between peaceful relaxation and upbeat, lively, and friendly community of like -minded people.

The gentle yin or vinyasa classes and power Vinyasa or Ashtanga yoga, meditation, and pranayama are the essential aspects of this training. You will find all of the teachers and the Bend it like Buddha Yoga online space and community uplifting, motivating and inspiring.

During the training, it highly recommended for you to practice asana 2x a day. Sunrise Vinyasa flow or Ashtanga yoga in the early morning followed by Yin or Restorative yoga classes in the evening.

The sessions are held via PDFs, audios, videos, live weekly FB group /zoom sessions covering yoga related subjects such as in pranayama, breathwork, mindful meditation, philosophy, yoga anatomy and yoga Nidra meditation.

You will be enjoying a variety of unique healing activities such as Binaural Beats/ Tibetan bowl sound healing, yoga Nidra meditations, and healing, powerful pranayama sessions and the best techniques and practice instructing skills on how to teach yoga to students.

All of the yoga sessions are Shakti inspired, empowering and made with love to ignite your heart’s spark.

Bend it like Buddha's 200-hour Yoga school follows Yoga Alliance's guidelines by offering 180 contact hours through video, audio and live community-teacher discussions and the 20 remaining hours are allotted for study and reviewing course material during your free time, preparing for assignments, and pre-reading handouts prior to the program start date. There are also video home work assignments and final class demos which students turn in for constructive evaluation and feedback by the Bend it like Buddha instructors. There is a final test written examination on all of the course readings and content.

We also offer students resource reading ebook materials to read before the online course begins. Preparing prior to the program by pre-reading the course material 2x helps students retain information and encourages everyone to get the most out of the training and preparing well for the final test.

All the teachers of this 200 hour have their own yoga studios and are teaching yoga worldwide and have valuable Yoga Teaching wisdom to share and also tips and advice regarding yoga business, branding, and social media.

Farrah Furtado has spent 17 years living in Asia studying Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Reiki, Pranayama and Massage in India, Bali, and Taiwan.

She has a degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria, BC and a certificate in International Development from the University of British Columbia.

She is an award-winning film maker of ATHA GAMMA, a documentary based on the power and science behind the breath and mindfulness. Furtado is a best-selling author of spiritual books and allegories available on Amazon: Her Apparitions & Other Human Longings, Euphoria and Metamorphosis.

Furtado has been published in a variety of prominent yoga blogs and magazines, including the BBC, Elephant Journal, Yoga Lunchbox and the Yoga Journal UK and USA. She is the lead instructor and creative Director of Bend it like Buddha Yoga in the Algarve, Portugal since 2015 and of Kaohsiung Yoga School in Kaohsiung, Taiwan since 2010.

She has over 10 years of knowledge in yoga, breath work, pranayama ( breathing techniques) and meditation and has directed and taught at YTTC 200 programs for 7 years in Taiwan, Portugal, Bali and India.

Recently her studio in Portugal received Best Yoga studio award for 2019 from the UK Luxury Travel magazine and the 2020 Travel & Hospitality Award, UK.

Furtado has taught for several years focusing on the philosophy of the 8 Limbs of Yoga by Patanjali, Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Reiki and Ashtanga Vinyasa based in Mysore, India.

She is trained and certified in Energy Healing, Balinese Healing, Ayurvedic massage, Indian scalp massage and Thai Yoga massage. She is a Usui Reiki master, 3rd degree.

Furtado has her YA RYT 200 hour in Hatha from Taiwan, and the advance certificate RYT 500 in Vinyasa flow from Goa. She has completed several advanced trainings in Ashtanga, Philosophy and Pranayama in Mysore, India at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Shala with the last living legend of Ashtanga, Guruji BNS Iyengar from 2014- 2018.

She has received over 2000 hours of training in Ashtanga Vinyasa in Mysore and trained with acclaimed international teachers such as Kino.
